The US department of transportation has laid out 5 tiers of autonomousbrcapability with LEVEL5 as good as or better than human control Dont getbrall worked up over Teslas FSD as it only manages a LEVEL2 They have abrlong long long long long long long way to go As a comparison, Googles inbrservice WAYMO taxi is LEVEL4 and improving every day Teslas? Not so brmuchbrbr!

It will be interesting to see which way is better One thing we have to consider tho is the amount of technology needed for the job The Nvidia way requires a lot more technology which makes the system more technologically sophisticated and arguably more accurate in its decision making but also costs a lot more and the risk of failure is a lot higher And it is not just if it fails while driving The system can fail at any time and it it does finding and replacing the problem will take more time and money Being more expensive and having more parts involved will make it worse when scaling is considered as wellbrbrOn the other hand the more technologically sophisticated method of Nvidia which is ARGUABLY more accurate is you know arguable and it is pretty clear currently Tesla is ahead That's not a good thing about Nvidia They use more tech and in the same time they are not ahead It costs a lot more as well I do not doubt the Nvidia engineers tho Nobody should do! I love Tesla but I'm aware of what Nvidia is capable of They are also leading AI company which definitely helps Tesla is a larger company with arguably more resources and something important is that the best engineers in the world currently view Tesla more so than Nvidia Yet what these engineers have to do Nvidia most likely already has in the form of hardware and despite Tesla being a much larger company Nvidia already has the people needed for the job brbrIt will be very interesting which company will come on top At this point Tesla is ahead and their vision which I didn't mention is also more relevant to me They want to recreate the human vision and understanding of the environment when making that AI autopilot

I think once Nvidia gets all their eggs in one basket, they can generate an ASIC to drive down the cost for the masses ASIC has high developmental cost, far less when you have a system in place TESLA went the ASIC route from the getgo with high capital expenditures
