Requirements and training to become a police officer in Europe is way higher and longer than in the US Our police gets trained to only use deadly force when absolutely necessary while in the US it seems to be "shoot first ask later" US cops are also not trained to cope with mentally unstable people and will use (deadly) force because of the lack of training There are some videos on YT that highlight the differencesbrbrI'd love to see your reaction to US prisons compared to European prisons

UK police get paid a bit less when you look at the numbers, but you also must take in to account that they're not paying for things like healthcare and such, and cost of living (fuel, fresh food particularly) is a lot cheaper than in the USbrbrThe assault thing is misleading In the US it's an assault if you hit an officer, or attack them with a weapon In the UK it's an assault if you shout or swear at them, bump in to them, etc The bar is much lower

Lots of missing info in that vidbrSuch as the training requirementsbrbrIn the UK you don't hit the streets within 4 months after signing up as a fully certified cop which you do in the USAbrIn most European countries training to become a cop takes between 1 to 3 years (3 years if you include on the job training while being constantly mentored)
