two quick comments: You do a great job here I teach horticulture at the university level, so just a couple of hints for youbr! Cotyledon is pronounced commonly with the accent on the syllable "le" So, cot-ty-LE- don Hard to do without the use of a lot of diacritical markingsbr2 You are so right to say that the leaves of all (or at least almost all) root vegetables are also edible, but, since many of your viewers may confuse Irish potatoes as a root veggie, I would emphasize that their leaves are most definitely NOT edible The potato that we eat, as I am sure you have pointed out, are not true roots, but rather a stem modification known as a tuber Potatoes are in the family Solanaceae Members of this family contain alkaloids in their stems and leaves that are toxic, so do not eat the leaves of potatoes, or, for that matter, tomatoes, peppers, or eggplantsbrKeep doing a truly nice jobbrDr R L Sealy Comment from : Ramsey Sealy |

My parrot was a sunflower addict, now he gets a pinch-full of them for tricks just once or twice a week, but I do offer him sunflower micro greens and he LOVES THEM - although I don’t grow them myself I am thinking of growing them myself because those I get from the supermarket are not as fresh you can see by the roots and leaves that they we’re WAITING for a long time What strain of seeds should I get? I tried using the big unshelled verity and shelled verity that are sold for roasting, didn’t have much success (maybe I should soak them longer?), should I get stuff that is specifically for micro greens or try again with what I have on hand?
