Thanks for this! Every video I've watched so far goes through replacing the whole lot included in the kit you bought However, in my situation I think the bit that is broken is the bit that attaches to the back of the flush button and has the cable coming out of it I have an in-built toilet so replacing the whole lot would be very challenging, so it's good to see that you can easily replace just part of the kit instead of using the whole thing Comment from : Emma W |

Jesus christ, I didn't know you could just push that button to release the attatchmentbrI keep having the problem of the button sticking down, usually have to resort to rapid shallow taps to draw the button back up, really annoying since it's other people who keep doing it Comment from : feraldrgn |

This is so helpful, my cistern seems to be exactly the same but the button is broken completely I can unscrew the cistern like you have done and just need a direct replacement as it seems a straight forward job to do I have the MacDee AFV40100/AFV401200 As this is discontinued would you know a direct replacement for this? Had the same problem and it was the cable that pulls the flush which was the problem Sprayed a bit of WD40 on the cable and let it work it’s way inside the yellow tube and works fine again now Comment from : Duncan Wright |
