I've got this problem but only happens when I put the front cover back on, mine in concealed, appears to be something to do with the cable idk

I replaced the flush valve unit as recommended Unfortunately it hasn’t fixed the problem The cistern still won’t stop filling

Lmao, mine was just the chain was on the wrong side of the metal line so it propped the rubber up just enough to let the water flow out lol

Thanks for this! Every video I've watched so far goes through replacing the whole lot included in the kit you bought However, in my situation I think the bit that is broken is the bit that attaches to the back of the flush button and has the cable coming out of it I have an in-built toilet so replacing the whole lot would be very challenging, so it's good to see that you can easily replace just part of the kit instead of using the whole thing

Sometimes adding a little lead weight to the flapper helps them seal better But best is not to buy these awful contraptions at all Get a syphon cistern if still available

Jesus christ, I didn't know you could just push that button to release the attatchmentbrI keep having the problem of the button sticking down, usually have to resort to rapid shallow taps to draw the button back up, really annoying since it's other people who keep doing it

Thanks for the double jab to stop it endlessly flushing -- wasting a huge amount of water -- while I figure out the rest Hoping that a soaking of the valve in white vinegar (like a success reported below) will save me having to replace anything! Worth a try, at least

This is so helpful, my cistern seems to be exactly the same but the button is broken completely I can unscrew the cistern like you have done and just need a direct replacement as it seems a straight forward job to do I have the MacDee AFV40100/AFV401200 As this is discontinued would you know a direct replacement for this? IMPORTANT! ive just had this problem and it was as simple as the button being twisted and misaligned causing it to get stuck Simply unscrew the button and twist it until the plastic is aligned It was that simple Check this first Please like to get this seen

Had the same problem and it was the cable that pulls the flush which was the problem Sprayed a bit of WD40 on the cable and let it work it’s way inside the yellow tube and works fine again now
