I followed all steps but when I was finished i had broken my sticks even more lolol Fortunately it was a pretty broken controller that my 4 year old daughter uses so I'm not too worried, but it was very informative and a fun exercise! Will probably attempt to open it up and try again brbrFYI I think the fault is either from the fact i forgot to clean the big bit that soldered to the board, or I opened the things too far and damaged the solder Comment from : Charles George |

I bought 6 new pot meters , hot air soldering station, kapton tape and flux All together cheaper than a new controller

When I saw this video about a month ago, I started doing this to my broken controllers and it worked temporarily, what I’ve been finding is the track or black rings on the potentiometer actually get worn down, not just dirty, so cleaning doesn’t help much Long story short I’m stuck in the rabbit hole now and bought all the soldering equipment and I’m teaching myself how to replace the entire analog stick 😮 fixing gaming controllers has become my new game lol Comment from : cantdenyDatruth23 |
