I used to daily drive Linux Mint for over a yearbrBut early this year after getting a new desktop and installing Arch there, I tried to update Linux Mint, and it broke it, so I got tired of that way of updating, so I installed Arch there too Now I've been daily driving Arch on my desktop and on my laptop for the last 8 or so months, and I've never been happier about my operating systembrLinux Mint is great, but I prefer other things Comment from : Mart |

Thank you for not being a stereotypical elitist saying a whole bunch of nonsense and accusing them of just bashing on Linux (cough DistroTube cough) I liked hearing your input Comment from : Bowiehunter |
I still find interesting the "Do not use a GoXLR It will absolutely not work outside of Windows Buy stuff for Linux instead"brbrLike, I get it? You buy stuff for the OS you're using, I understand that But also, what if you already have it and have no other option? Or if you're going to get that because no other option is as good or comfortable to use? Maybe there can be a middle ground, just saying Comment from : TX2015 |
11:11 "This should NOT be done unless you know exactly what you are doing!" Linus: mmmm Y Ooop! Comment from : Jovan Pejic |

Except it's bonly/b faster if you already know the name of the package you want to install so Comment from : TheSeranath |

APT: my guy you boutta nuke all these essential packages, make sure you absolutely know what you're doingbrLinus: I dunno what those packages are so I guess they're not important Do as I saybrLinus after nuking the DE: I think I didn't do anything unreasonable they just didn't make it clear enough Comment from : Embrace The Penguin |
Imagined being named Linus and still using Losedows Comment from : Feel Alive Musix |
If it says “don’t do this unless you know exactly what you’re doing”, and you aren’t sure what you’re doing, don’t do it That’s a lesson you only have to learn once Ok three times tops Comment from : asdfasdf9477 |
So to sum up, don't pick the wrong distro, throw away your gpu, click the hidden setting to operate as it should, throw away your sound and thunderbolt equipment, don't use any ui store to install things All legit points Comment from : Xavi3RElvis |
Linus really just took his desktop our back and blasted it through the head trying to install steam Comment from : Mike Perreman |
If I were to daily drive mint, how far would it take me before I needed a different os? Can it do a lot of advanced stuff even though it's beginner friendly? Comment from : NortherlyUser85 |

dude it would be great to see you break down the different parts to linux and get us started on the fundamentalspersonally i am learning new and i have been willing to research but i dont want to have to hunt for help i would rather search haha although sometimes you have to hunt Comment from : Ilia bakhshi |
Thanks a ton, your commentary is teaching me a lot I'm taking the dive to ditch windows now and am learning as much as I can Comment from : MasterOogway |
Its not "so much faster in the terminal" The GUI DOESNT WORK Thats why the command line is a better experience Because your operating system is broken It doesn't work Good day sir Comment from : TheTastefulThickness |
If you're working with AI/ML, an AMD card is not an option NVidia is required And yeah "that hardware isn't going to work, toss it and buy another more expensive one that will" is kinda why Windows is still king Comment from : Jeremy Kothe |
When i try linux there is always a dealbreaking problem I’m currently on nobara and it can’t even access the internet Only mint would work fine so far but even it had issues with game compatability Comment from : Jaq Hass |
I've been daily driving Linux for a few years and when I first started I made all the same mistakes Linus made Comment from : Boethius |
Proton all the way!!! Comment from : Marc Lambrechts |

Just abandoned Linux as my daily driver after trying for a month to make it work The nail in the coffin was fractional scaling on my portable USB monitor Also, Thunderbird is hot garbage Doing my data science and scripting in WSL2 Comment from : Andrew Johnston |
As a 16 year old, I daily drive Linux, and it’s great! I’m using an out of the box distro right now (Nobara with the KDE desktop, which is based on Fedora), but plan to move on to Arch when I have more time Comment from : RIBOI MAN |
Thank you for talking about the nvidia-xconfig command I was using wayland and dealing with a blank login screen because X11 wasn't letting me turn the refresh rate up on my monitor After running that everything works fine on X11 Comment from : Declan Cottle |
I love this channel I really like how you explain how to solve these issues as LTT went through them I wish I had a good Linux teacher in college as they had no idea how to fix these bugs 😅 Comment from : ѕυвƒιѕѕιση |

Oh, just shows how much of a computer geek you need to be, to be able to use this smoothly; At least, you need to be more knowledgeable than Linus… Comment from : RayBomb |
That's absolutely rightbr The linux community treats you like shit Comment from : down side123 |
What would you say PClinux OS is based on? I think it is unique Comment from : regal953 |
People recommend Mint and Kubuntu all the time and in my experience, they are so buggy and unstable If a friend asked me what distro to install, I'd tell them Ubuntu 2204 LTS and not to upgrade the OS until the next LTS version It's great for Gaming and work and it will work 247 no issues Comment from : Hiking Feral |
Make nanite like tool for Linux bfedora/b Comment from : Girish Pal |

It's crazy that I really only got to using linux as a daily driver after getting into programming Linux is way better for most development but imo that's about it unless you care about privacy and telemetry Comment from : Flarebear |
Why does it say Ebuntu pop-os? Why did Linus name it pop-os? Comment from : max_ishere |
so i just want to say that my first experience was pop_os and while it wasnt the exact cause that Linus had but something screwed erased my desktop and a quick google got me back up and running fairly quickly and i have very very little experience in tech or IT Comment from : Blarin |
As much as i wanted to hear the discussion on Linux, i really am not interested in hearing someone talk over another person or explaining 5 words into what the other is saying Goodbye Comment from : Paddle Shift |
Hi Chris, is this a single video or is it part of a video series? I searched if there is a second part but I couldn't find it, I was wondering if the Titus vs LTT video is meant to be the second partThanks for sharing! Comment from : Leo D |

WHO THE F*** RECOMMENDED MANJARO TO LINUS Comment from : SudoLinux |
I didn't really think about Linux too much I wanted a cheap laptop that I didn't care about too much when the dogs jump on it, so I got an old Thinkpad, put Pop! OS on it and was working with the same apps as on my Mac within the hour (Blender, Nuke, DaVinci) Comment from : Frank Jonen |

When I saw Linus just go ahead and push the linux equivalent of uninstalling internet explorer on windows 7 through 10, I laughed soooo hardbrThey say about IT-guys that the good ones are the ones who read what their pc tells them and act accordingly Comment from : Indus3 |
Linus did use the terminal to install steam And it didn’t work and nuked his desktop environment So clearly the command line wasn’t the solution to the problem Comment from : Phloxix |
Why people pronounce Ubuntu as abantu? It's ooh-boon-tooo Comment from : Shaun van der Linde |
installing an Nivida driver is literally no issue whatsoever on windows So not "having to worry about it ever again" isn't quite the end of all arguments to switch to Linux Or Pop There are probably some for many cases, but for gaming?! Comment from : Thisandthat |
Didn't like Linus before (as I found his content to be boring at its best and cringy af at its usual), started to hate the guy after this as every windows boy used this as "the definitive proof why linux sucks" Comment from : Phobos TK |
Bro Linux was MADE FOR ME, I've been thinking now i HAVE TO) about getting an AMD GPU, and I HATE windows and all its bullshit I have my windows machine that I use for any anti cheat games (Genshin Impact/Apex Legends only tbh) and I just downloaded Zorin to star and like it a lot to be honest So much that i completely wiped windows from my daily driver Comment from : Christian Mino |
Linus is facing the same problems all long time Windows users have experienced when switching to Linux What is reality is that people don't like change and they have a hard time adjusting to new environments This includes digital environments Comment from : Matt |
i tried the linux desktop & honestly it was easy for most things its great for data computing & science, but if your a game dev its just not worth it depending on the engine you use take the unreal engine, plugins for the engine really is only compatible with windows Comment from : Judofright |
I also tested Linux for the first time from gaming Windows user perspective and it's pretty annoying that unless not doing basic web surfing or playing solitaire or something you have to be super nerding 110 in command prompt using all kinds of weird sudo ninja commands to get even slightly advanced stuff installed and working Kinda reminds me of time when I was hating Windows and it's GUI and wanted to stay in DOS forever but times change Comment from : YoStu |
I started using Linux by going all in as I chose Arch btw as my first distro and it has been one of the hardest things I've ever committed to when I stopped using Windows as my back-up plan if something doesn't work Therefore these issues they had in the series didn't seem to bad to me when I watched it without your commentary but it makes a lot more sense and is more relatable watching it alongside with your commentary ;D Comment from : FABESTAH |
Don't recommend ever running nvidia-xconfigbrBroke my system several times Comment from : nupersu |

This was perhaps Linus's most cringe-worthy video series ever The really sad thing was the lack of technical savvy from a channel with "Tech Tips" in the namebrbrNow get off my lawn! /s Comment from : sirfer6969 |
