UAW Strike update: Vehicles that are impacted by the strike include: GMC Canyon & Colorado, Savana and Chevy Express vans, Ford Ranger and Bronco, Jeep Wrangler, Wrangler 4xe, and Jeep Gladiator It's not across all makes and models at the Big 3 in Detroit It's almost like the UAW is trying to inflict some pain to show they are serious without shutting the manufacturers down entirely Comment from : Kevin Hunter The Homework Guy |

We are looking to buy a 2023 Toyota Crown limited Do the same thought you have presented apply to a new car purchase? Also, paint and leather protection Do you look for a private business to do that? Comment from : Kim Jaeger |
Why the fuck does this have to be such a agonizing process these vehicles are already losing value the day they arrive on the lot And hidden fees and lying about bullshit like a extended warranty “protection” plan is required that shit is illegal you can’t tell customers that Comment from : Mike M |

Hello, first; thank you for all the effort you make in helping us followers make great decisions in the world of the rip of artist car salesman of which Ive had experience in the past getting raked over the coals Now I have knowledge to go into a car deal thanks to following your vids by you and Liz I found 3 late model high end trucks I'm interested in wanting one of them; (2) 2022 high country Silverado 3500s (45-56k miles $70k and $74k) and one 2019 (24k miles $69k)Respectively the dealer is listing them 12-14k above KBB trade in value (2022s) and for the 2019 8K above probably because the low miles Either way for the 22s I'm OTD price of 5-6k under his pre-tax-pre doc fee asking price! Doing your calc (including the $2300 dealer profit figure) leaves me with not much for the 2019 OTD, but a hell of a gap for the 22s between my calc and their pretax asking price!Cant get a cash offer on these for some reason using KBB so I'm going with trade in averageIs this unreasonable or a waste of time to ask for these OTD prices given the timing and they are a specialized but not rare truck?? Please help thank you Comment from : Mark Miller |
sadly I have to be impatientmy car was stolen and wrecked, my rental is up in less than a week and though I can make my son let me use his car I really NEED to get something as soon as I finally hear from insurance uhg Comment from : Sam Robinson |
Hi Liz & Kevin I find your videos invaluable and have learned everything from you about the buying process I will be rewatching this video and taking notes and maybe even get a friend to play Kevin's part so I can practice before I go to the dealer I am planning on buying a slightly used Rav 4 either in Sept or Dec Thank you for all that you are doing to help us the consumers get the best deals And yes, please do more of these kinds of videos! Comment from : lynnita321 |

Just a few months ago here in South FL A Honda dealer initially wanted 48k OTD, with Honda Advantage and other mark ups But after continually shopping the lowest the otd quote and using the cash buying method(agreeing to finance through the dealer on a 72 month note to get a bigger discount) the best OTD price circled back to the first dealer which came down from 48k to 38k for a new oddessey and still had the honda advantage on it Which was fine Waited for my first bill and thats when I paid in full I will never forget the experience Thank guys And God bless you for helping others Comment from : David Y |
Thanks to the info I learned on The Homework Guy channel I was able to obtain a 24 outback at 1500 under msrp I was also offered 300 under msrp and 4k over msrp Setting up a separate email was helpful keeping communications organized I only corresponded by email until the dealer responded positivly with my requests I told each dealer that I was a buyer and was working with other dealers to get the best price I felt that this was the only leverage I had since this is a popular model I was fortunate in that I didn't need a car right away though and had more strength to turn down deals This process was a lot of work but in the end satisfying and it put the money in my pocket as opposed to theirs It is just a matter of how much your time is worth Thank you for your help Comment from : Raymond Sussmann |
Awesome as always! Thanks guys! Comment from : John Mills |

The tactic of leaving the dealership after a test drive assumes (I think) that you're working with a relatively local dealership It's a lot harder to do that if I've driven an hour or more to drive a particular used vehicle I might not have the time to return to that dealership in the near future to conclude a deal Comment from : Mark & Christy |
Will Toyota and Honda be more open to deals? My experience at multiple dealerships is MSRP plus fees with their high demand I could see them raising prices because of the strike Comment from : EGR NHL |

I tried to get a purchase order from the Toyota Dealership to apply for a car loan with my bank… So, this is how it went My bf and I talked to a salesperson we were recommended by a former one He told us they don’t have the vehicle color… I wanted (Red Camry XSE V6) brbrHe shows us a white one… I test drove it When, we went back to his office…talked about some estimated numbers, credit score, and the possible down payment He tells us that it would between 600 - 800< depending on the percent and the years to pay it offbrbrWe didn’t liked the numbers, asked him to give us a purchase order… he shows us some paper with numbers but it wasn’t the final one He tells us to use the Toyota financing one and that they do have an open contract So, we told him to let us know if he does get the color vehicle I was looking for brbrHe proceeds to text me the following day telling me the white car is still there… I told him sure, but if he can please send me the purchase order through email He says yes… asks for it… I never received it I texted him later in the evening because they close at 8 And I get no response So, yeah idk how in the world am I getting a purchase order to provide to my bank 😅😅😅 Comment from : Nadia Gwendolyn Ibarra |

All I am seeing on car lots are big trucks and SUVs I don't see much of anything smaller that I would be interested in Ford lots don't even have an Escapes but they have plenty of F150s for $80k plus They don't seem to interested in building any base models that are more affordable Comment from : Dennis W |

At the end of the day, it will take a recession to crash the RE market And the soft landing scenario is the prevalent story on wall street Ultimately, jobs anf employment will need to significantly fall off for recession to kick off Comment from : * Kim |

The US auto manufactures and UAW are foolishly and apparently pricing themselves OUT OF THE MARKET raising prices in a visibly falling economy The auto industry is simply committing financial suicide - IMO brHow about simply REPOWERING a high mileage older and quite reliable vehicle with a precision remanufactured replacement engine The b*savings*/b will be about a whopping 88 of the price of a new vehicle, not including interest payments; and, that savings can result in even more savings if that amount is properly 're-invested' Such precision remanufactured engines normally have a 100K mi warantee Plus, the older vehicles normally have more reliable electronic gizmos, & are more simple and cheaper to repair and maintain Comment from : RichH |
I absolutely love the videos that show how to make deals at dealerships Thank you so much for all the great work you do Comment from : Wayne Pile |
I assume that most of this advice generally applies to used cars as well But, I really am in the market for one of two vehicles a 2018-2020 Ram Power Wagon or a 2018-2020 Jeep Rubicon Both are approximately 8-10k above what they were when I started looking at comparable units in early 2019 If sites like Autolist or Autotrader are not the best places for searching, what are the good ones? Comment from : Chris Vandergriff |
Wondering if you could answer this question for me I want to buy a Chevy Silverado 1500 It’s New only 12 miles and is a 2022 It’s been on the market for 355 days MSRP is 48k and they have it reduced to 43k Would I be wasting my time if I went in and offered 39k out the door cash? Comment from : Box of Wine |

Love these shows, keep up the great work ! Is it typical for the INVOICE price to be $3000-$4000 less than MSRP or is it usually a little more? I have seen only a couple on F-250 trucks and the INVOICE was listed as $2000-$3000 less than MSRP Is this range normal? Comment from : The Hillbilly Hermit |
