There's a few misconceptions herebrFirst, the buy rate isn't always the rate a customer would get on their own When I worked F&I I even tested the theory on myself The buy rate was a quarter point lower than my pre-approval with the same bank and its because a dealer's buy rate often includes a credit for volume (ie The bank is set up to make a 1 yield normally, but since the dealer sends business in bulk, they make a slightly lower yield to capture business)brbrSecond, I was typically capped at 2 points I was definitely not making 3 points on a sell ratebrbrThird, if you are not a well qualified borrower, you have no right to complain

I was in the market for a 2017 Chevrolet Impala, called the NFCU and got a quote of 269 in 2017 Went to the Chevrolet dealer in Reno Nv got a firm OTD price for the vehicle, they offered financing to US at 279 for 60 months meeting our monthly goal for payment level( we always pay off early) but the bad part was the LIE that the FI guy said, was the doing business would take several days to get a check from the NFCU I caved and just laid down! But the NEXT time I will be more patient and get the OTD price and just wait for NFCU to perform ! I failed, in that I forgot about FAX Machines that would have enabled my banker to move at the speed of light All in all we paid off the vehicle in 24 months! and it was 20 off the MSRP! I judge it to be an OK deal
