I’ve been doing weighted pull ups for a little bit It definitely helps your bench, posture, and overall back gains I would be do even more volume but I have an injured shoulder/peck so that side just fatigues quicker

Thank you Sir for a complete explanation of all the pluses for doing this great exercise I'm 60 year old and have been doing pull ups regularly for a few months, just added them to my regular workouts I'm up to 10 now easily straight through I do about 40-50 a day I feel great and doing these have certainly helped my cycling, swimming etc Cheers!

He's absolutely right about pull ups stabilizing the core, "holding the gut in", and expanding your chest I started doing pull ups at home, I can hardly do 3 or 4 at a time but I do them slowly and all the way down and up and I do about 10 sets Just adding this to my workout after a couple weeks I definitely saw more definition in my chest and abs, and my horrible posture has noticeably improved! It really does stretch your body out For me, rather than trying to do a ton of fake pull ups, I go slowly and do a few at a time Of course I'll eventually be able to do more Highly recommend it and this guy hit the nail on the head as to why pull ups are different from other upper body exercises

So, If benching 90 of 1 rep max is a 10 on the scale of hypertrophy What would pull-ups and chin-ups be? I recently bought a bar and have incorporated them into my liftsusually at the end, til I cant do anymorebut wondering if I should give them more focus? transverse abdominus or whatever you said mine or i think this is whats hurting is HURTING today hugely I was unable to do a single pull up or chin up 1 week ago and through negatives and holds and various other exercises I can already do 4 good form chin ups in a row I will be able to do 10-15 clean ones slowly by the end of the month after that I will keep on going! I feel muscles aching that I never knew existed Im 189 cm and 108 kg im fat but also muscular ( I work as a lumberjack as you americans cal it )also already i can feel my posture altered slightly
