Love the tutorials Would you be able to do a program on dealers (Volvo) who sell certified pre-owns > I've always bought these and totally sold on this concept As a cash buyer, and negotiator I am curious about what the dealers pay on trade-ins for these models Comment from : @deepilot3743 |

Just to let you in on a little secret THERE ARE NO GOOD DEALERS OUT THERE!!!!!! You may get a good deal one time from a dealer, but I have never bought from the same dealer twice because you are never treated the same from car purchase to car purchase The dealers have a monopoly in their area, and you can't purchase direct from the manufacturer There is no incentive on being a good and fair dealer if all of them are doing the same thing It's the same thing in sports, if you don't cheat by using enhancement drugs, your competition will leave you behind, and you will not be able to compete The car industry rewards bad behavior That is why it will never get fixed Especially now, since COVID, the dealers found a way to be even more profitable by keeping a low inventory (or hiding it), which also means they can keep a lower overhead with fewer employees at the same time keeping manufacturer discounts to themselves, raising sale prices, processing fees, and adding crap that you don't want to buy on the Window Sticker I still can't believe that the car dealers are allowed to do this????!!!!! I am trying to buy a car for my son On cars priced at $29,000 or below, all of the car dealerships across the US are, at the most, will only come down about a $1000 after you add in the processing fee But most of them, you still will pay at MSRP plus tax, title, and reg when it is all said and done Even on previous model year leftovers, the dealers are still trying to sell them as if they are the current model year WTF??????? Comment from : @crob5523 |
Unfortunately the incentives are a joke because they have raised the prices so much on vehicles for the last several years all the incentives are a wash They don’t help anyone except the dealers and the manufacturers Can you say RIP-OFF !!!!! Comment from : @neiljuedes1661 |
I have been shopping for a particular new car using all the knowledge from your many vids Comparing the $ from 4 dealers quoting the exact same car they are all very close in the OTD (MSRP slightly discounted) but they all have that DOC fee line item of $400 and all say they can't do anything about it What strategy can you advise Offer them $ 300 less than their the OTD price and say "That's my offer"? RSVP please- thanks, Brian Comment from : @brianpiersol9412 |
I'll wait for midsize cars to be priced around $20k again before I think of buying Comment from : @kenarthur6253 |
That’s wrong Kia, Honda, Toyota are not doing that Stop buying and force the dealerships to sell They are ripping us off Comment from : @davidc7196 |
Do you have a list of good Toyota dealers for Long Island NY Thank again for what you do Comment from : @liketodabble5442 |
I was at Princeton Honda a few weeks ago and was asked for my zip code After the salesman entered it in his computer, he said great, you’re local I asked him why does it matter and he told me that they charge markups for people not living in NJ I asked him if that’s even legal and he said sure it is, they want to take care of local residents first Don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing but just wanted to spread the word Comment from : @sueleel1697 |
One of my local Honda dealers lot was almost completely empty, only a few new vehicles and hardly no used cars either Totally pitiful Comment from : @bonbon27 |
How much have the increased sales made up for the pandemic shortages? Is there still a gap based on what would have been normal (or pent up) consumer demand? Comment from : @ronj9124 |
Great stuff Kevin and Elizabeth! I wanted to get a Tucson Hybrid, but the dealer I worked (Johnson Hyundai in Cary, NC) with added $499 for Nitrogen and $799 for a mystery coating I told the salesman I was working with (who had me drive 15 miles to the dealer despite having nothing to show me) that I was going to walk across the street to the Honda Dealer - he didn't seem concerned Well, I now have a red CR-V on order (Sport-L) with the features I wanted and no dealer uplift (they do make you buy mats and mudflaps, but I was going to buy them anyway) So pushy dealers - with these numbers, remember there are choices Comment from : @jbwhite99 |
Thanks for the inventory updates 👍 Comment from : @roubinekibinian1578 |
I pick up used vehicles from auctions but evidently in our area the buying has backed off because we have not done as of late I walked around the lot and could not believe the prices still being put on used vehicles Looks like I won’t be buying anytime soon Comment from : @neiljuedes1661 |
Would love for you to go ahead and list the good dealers you have found so far Comment from : @bobbiesmith1205 |

I'd love to know your thoughts on car brokers, that is those that can get "any make, any model" and how they operate and any experiences with them I have a price quote request out on a Toyota Corolla Let's see what they come up with brbrYes, the Corolla is a "hot one" and tough to nail down with the given dealer network Comment from : @googleusergp |
Kevin,brThanks for responding to my question about the disruption of the new rulesbrbrCan you develop information on typical Fleet sales pricing? I think in this unusual market, well funded buyers might be able to get out the door pricing that is close to or equal to fleet pricing that is supported by concessions from the manufacture This is a unique moment in the auto industry and an unconventional window might just be open Comment from : @georgeakadad688 |
Great presentation on sales and inventory I recently bought a new Ridgeline drove one hr to another state to save $3000 off MSRP I always shop for my new car/truck and will never pay MSRP or above Comment from : @jimmywalters3071 |

What happened to the HWG new vehicle buying program that was talked about months ago? Comment from : @terrygreen2484 |
Incentives will help and even discounts, but when they mark a vehicle down $10,000 and it still leaves the price at $65k or $75K, forget it, we average American buyers want vehicles priced in the 20 to 35K, maybe 40K at the high end of price ranges and we will NOT pay these stupid hyper-inflated prices no matter what they say Comment from : @donsmnc5319 |
Got a great deal here at Jim Click Mada in Tucson, Az $3K off MSRP on July 4th, and 1/2 off $900 in dealer add ons CX-5 Preferred Model, fully loaded Out the door $33K Comment from : @ryoung6725 |
Still way too many Americans that either don't care and or don't have the necessary skills to bring a dealer to heel, this is why the market still favors the dealership over the customer Comment from : @frankrothiz4u |
I wouldn't have an EV is they gave me one Comment from : @WhittyPics |

You should never underestimate the ability of Americans to go deeper in debt Comment from : @joelwelch9820 |

They can keep their $7,000 adjusted dealer markup and $450 for air in the tires I'll check back in 5 years Comment from : @christopherstimpson6540 |

We picked up a new Dodge challenger RT last month in Oklahoma city Its MSRP was around 49,000 and we got it for 45,200 before the taxes and tags when we got it back to Kansas Dodge had a 4th of July sales event that ended right after we picked it upbrbrWe had a Challenger on order since March and it was canceled by another dealer in June because they didn't have the parts at the factory anymore for the shaker and performance packages We tried re ordering through a couple more dealers and got the same story so we found one on the lot that was close to what we wanted Comment from : @bw4x489 |
Mitsubishi dealer in Waco Texas has a new add on I have not seen before cost $240000 plus, for a catalytic converter strap supposed to prevent theft of the converter What a joke I told the salesman he would have to take it off needless to say, I walked Comment from : @rodneyross5282 |
It's funny how toyota has no problem coming up with new models (Land cruiser) but have no exhisting models on the lot It's a fake supply and demand issue South East Toyota is the absolute worse Toyota supplier Comment from : @johnathoncastro |
I haven't seen inventory go up at any Toyota dealership with -in 250 miles of my home They are still doing add ons and lots of oem add ons and fighting to keep MSRP pricing and high ddf Although, I have only run into one dealership in Boston Ma still asking for Market adjustments Comment from : @pawsitiveleader8710 |
Sell the EV crap at a loss and take the business loss off your taxes It will save the nukes from wales or whatever But it will make the fuel supply higher and drive down the prices for people that go further and harder down the road than to the local coffee shop Comment from : @TheHortond |

I’ve been pretty loyal to Toyota but honesty I might have bite the bullet and just go with Hyundai or Kia if they can’t get their inventory up (Living in New Jersey) Comment from : @worldsheaviestjamband93 |
The new truck prices are just ridiculous I was so disgusted that I decided to keep my 97 Dakota I poured $3,000 into it for various discrepancies dealing with my evaporator, heater core and suspension over that last month My truck feels great again I should be good for the next 3 to 5 years To the many truck dealerships and manufactures, "How do you like that?" Comment from : @tonysantamaria19 |

Honda has been the worst!!! Not coming off MSRP, plus adding addition fees!! Comment from : @theresah5416 |
