I haven't seen a police man or woman in my area for about 10 years now I have had my garage broken into 3 times now and not once have they come to take a statement or advise on how to prevent further break in attempts I have since taken to fixing really sharp spikey carpet gripper along the edges of the garage door they keep pulling open Nothing has gone missing for sometime now but I'm getting a bit sick of cleaning the blood and skin off the carpet gripper :)

I live in Weston Super Mare and I am pretty sure we have 2 police persons in our town About every 4 months I see them 2 police walking down our road and sometimes they go past in a police car All the druggies on our estate say they haven't seen a police person for years and they looked quite worried when I told them I saw 2 police just a couple of months ago

I come from a major city in the UK and every police officer I have met has been very polite (I live literally across the road from one of my cities head Police Stations)brI always have and always will have huge respect for The Police and what they do I refuse to have a few bad apples spoil the batch

You may enjoy watching "police interceptors", "road wars" and "Traffic cops" if you can find them, there is one in North Wales, Llandudno, the poor police have a real hard time with the locals especially during the eveningsbrI notice further down in the comments people have remarked on the clip being fairly old, and yes I would agree our police have toughened up somewhat, but that is due to the disgraceful behaviour of some people, especially those getting drunk The British police are having a tough time as their numbers have been slashed by our government (never a good thing) and as with all countries, there are small pockets of police who could do with a kick themselves!

The verb “to nick” is used extensively in the UK to mean “to steal” eg “ I have had my bike nicked again” But it can also be used to describe when the Police have caught someone for doing anything wrong - not just stealing eg “He was nicked for doing 40 in a 30 mph area” Also it can be used as a noun ( as they have done in the video) Ie The Nick (as you correctly pointed out meaning the Police station) It can also be used to describe a person’s health eg “He is in very good nick for his age” (he is looking really well ) and also a nick can be a small cut in a surface or edge of something ie “There is a nick in that piece of wood” or once again as a further verb “careful you don’t put a nick in that staircase” Sorry this is turning into the Oxford English Dictionary 😂
