As always Matt, a most interesting and important breakdown and analysis of Nikon finances Your thoughts and opinions of Nikon’s financial health over these extraordinarily difficult years have done much for me and I’m sure so many other Nikon users, to keep faith in an exceptional company that has served us well for more than 100 years In my 54 years of experience with Nikon equipment, I’ve never had a “real” major problem with my equipment, although I did one time accidentally drop my Nikkor 85mm f18 Ais lens out of a military helicopter while over 200 feet in the air and watched it drop in slow motion onto the wooden pier, bouncing 3 times along the 1000 foot pier Resulting in only a bent hood and Nikon Service stating that the lens was still in working order My 85mm f12 Z lens probably would not fair as well, should the same thing happen but with Nikon doing well financially, I know I would be able to replace it But oh the financial pain 😢

Hi MattbrHow about Nikkor Z 200mm f/2 S-Line with built-in x15 TC (an f/18 would be even better) that weighs half the current F-mount version

I think I'm set on cameras for the foreseeable future (Z9, Z7ii and pre-order of a Z8) I think later this year I'll probably add the Z 100-400mm f45 -56 VR S lens to replace my Sigma 100-400mm F5-63 DG OS HSM Contemporary lens (very nice for the price, but the Z lenses are just too special) I'll certainly consider a Z 200-500mm when it eventually surfaces, but I'll have to think about the "need" for that lens Most of my shooting is with the Z 24-120mm f4, the Z 70-200mm f28 and the Z 105mm f28 S Macro lens I plan to sell my Zeiss Milvus 100mm f2 lens and Sigma 14-24mm f28 Art lens to ease the cashflow pain caused by the order of the Z8 I just don't use those lenses very often and I don't like to keep things that just sit on the shelf

Hi Matt, as previously mentioned my Z8 is pre-ordered for Thursdays release date I have had the Z 400mm f/45 VR S on order for a few months I'm not happy that its being manufactured in China It's possibly the reason that it's taking so long to get product I may cancel my order if it doesn't turn up shortly I have been looking into anamorphic lenses It would be good if Nikon were to be able to produce their own lens, hopefully with built in ND filters? My father tells me that there may be a full frame version of the Zfc at some point He loves his black version, but would like to see DX prime lenses for it
