I'm assuming this happens when we go test drive as you have lamented on here about doing all the "negotiating" over the phone and getting a final OTD price before going in and signing right? Comment from : Mathteach2022 |

So I’m a current salesman and these things don’t really happen in real life For starters, nobody is “trained” to overcome the word “no” Plus, there really isn’t a “show” as per your video It’s more of a waste of time and of course it’s not the best time Nowadays people come in because they have an appointment There isn’t a “show” as described in your video, but more of a explain what you’re able to and let them out The internet is available for people to do their shopping and see cars so there isn’t much time to waste when searching for the right vehicle Wasting time at a dealership isn’t really going to help out as much when an experienced salesman can pinpoint certain actions that can tell you aren’t going to do anything that day Furthermore, the customer would be let out without much time being wasted since this is obviously not going to end up being a deal Just letting y’all know this is how the new era of car sales has been for the past 5 years The internet will help you so stop wasting time until you’re actually willing to buy and not waste time! Car salesman are smart enough to notice time wasters compared to actual car buyers Until you’re ready to buy, you will receive the dealers best number orbrnot depending how far the process has been taken You will most likely be told a higher number so you can go and waste more time at other dealers until you realize no one is taking you seriously Stop wasting time! It’s precious to everyone including you as a buyer! Comment from : Christian Quito |

Sorry, Kevin, but you've actually created a video this time that I just HATE I get that you're trying to make a point, but please don't make your audience sit through streams of meaningless drivel in a scripted overstatement of salesman behavior I get that you're exaggerating to make a point, but OMG -- I wanted to scream "JUST SHUT UP!!!" Make your point and move on, please This video was insufferable I'm a huge fan of your channel, but this time you're over the top on the script Comment from : Evan Windom |
#The homework guy # Great videos Feeling more prepared than ever before Comment from : Mitchell Farrell |
Salespeople will act like they didn't hear you if you said no or just ignore it and keep talking They will try to use word tracks, to get you to say yes I have a word track too, which way to the exit Comment from : Eric Fitzpatrick |

Do you have a video on these web sites that is supposed to tell you what other people in your area paid for a make/model? (TrueCar) Comment from : J M Charles |
At dealerships with a horde of salesmen, many times when it was my turn to take an "UP" and with the other salesmen still waiting dormant for their "UP" When coming back from a test drive with the "UP", upon entering the showroom and loud enough for my audience of covetous salesman to hear, I'd loudly exclaim "Come over here folks into this office, I make HIGHER GROSS in this one" - the managers & salesman would all chuckle - Having fun was welcome, what with all the stress & boredom of a sales job Comment from : y2ktube |
I just walk away while they are talking Most of them won't follow you outside, but some of them will follow you all the way to the car Comment from : Boone Docker |
Any sales guy talked that much I’m walking, that guys an idiot! Comment from : Brian D |
The salesman kinda sounds and reminds me of jroc from TLPB lol Comment from : LiveSl0w |
After you gather all the facts you need, best way to negociate is over the phone! because you can say no and hang up! and the sales man is dead in the water, unless he calls you back with your terms! Comment from : Aneta Johnson |
Video was excellent !!! Comment from : TOM COWLE |
One of the first questions I am being asked do you require finance, we have some great finance options * Basically F off, let's talk about the car first You're a car salesman, I'll discuss finance with the finance dept AFTER we agree on a price (Yes I'm aware they make more money on the finance than the sale price of the car) Comment from : Steve Graham |
This is a great instructional video Kevin! I was in sales for 32 years (IT sales) and the training is basically the same, but you hit the nail on the head I was smiling through the whole thing Love the role playing format Comment from : Mark Mason |
I would walk away from that sleaze bag My answer begins with a F and ends with a F Comment from : Stephen Hughes |
Role play is interesting, but you spent 15 minutes repeating the problem without offering useful solutions The only useful point was "leave the guy who's trying to manipulate you" This could have been a 2-3 minute MAX video Comment from : CLTserendipity |
The role play is wonderful, it sets your videos apart from the rest Comment from : mikeandhisdogs |
No means NO unless you paid to do it bitches Comment from : EVIL QTip |
The best advice period! Comment from : Thomas Callaway |
Wow! One thing that would help me in front of a salesman on a car lot is this video running on silent and watching Kevin's look and expression looking at this car salesman That says it all Comment from : RC Wagon |
‘Judas’ could be a nickname for all car salesman it fits them perfectly Comment from : Esdras Senra |
Yes I like the role playing format It makes the situation vivid and realistic Comment from : Gwin Willis |
When the pushy salesman says "What is holding you back? Is it the features on the car not being appealing or is it the financial details not being appealing?" I would use my all purpose answer of "I know what I want but I don't want to tell you right now" In my opinion, saying you want to look at the financial numbers is the worst thing a person can say That just gives them permission to push you forward harder and faster to the place that they were pushing you towards anyway Comment from : Gwin Willis |
So the basic premise is "You are never totally rejecting the idea of buying a car You are merely MERELY unsure UNSURE about what type of vehicle you want to buy" Comment from : Gwin Willis |
You cannot stop a salesman from figuring out what kind of prospect you are by asking questions They always want to qualify you They always want to figure out your priorities Comment from : Gwin Willis |
What are some things that a good salesman would say who was actually not trying to manipulate you? I've purchased several cars from our local Mazda dealership and I feel that sometimes they're being genuine but sometimes they are not Comment from : Cliff Johnson |
Your role play examples were very helpful, keep them coming, my only suggestion is to give some examples of different age groups Comment from : J Allen |

Dealerships are an archaic and useless entity in the 21st century I should be able to go online, customize a car, and have it delivered to my house But noooo, the dealer lobby on state legislatures are so strong, dealers aren't going away anytime soon Comment from : bugalaman |

Very Helpful and on point Razzle Dazzle and a sprinkle of BS from a salesman can persuade you to say Yes Safety, Saving time and most of all saving money what's not to like? I was taught when a customer says NOit means he/she simply "needs more information" so you got back to fact finding and reinforcing all that the customer said was important Good job ! Thx Comment from : Reggie Brandveen |

I was looking for a car not long ago, the salesman was a little pushy, but the car I wanted to buy was a good deal I waited a few days before making a decision He called me a few days later asking if I was still interested and I said I was I told him I'd be there in the next couple of days A few minutes after talking with him on the phone, he called me back saying they've been getting inquiries about the car I knew immediately that was a lie because so few people drive or want manual transmission vehicles After that I just ghosted him because of that lie When he followed up a week later, I lied right back to him saying I didn't buy it because you told me you had people looking to buy it It sat on their lot a few more weeks and sold for a few hundred dollars less I was able to get the same price at a different dealership Comment from : Joe B |

Two things that got me to walk out 1) The sales person tried desperately to talk my out of four wheel drive That’s the first think I wanted We live in an area that can have lots of snow in 24 hours 2 ) I took a van out for a test drive Was sure I didn’t want it but when I stomped on the gas and nothing happened She replied The car has to learn how you drive I turned around back to the dealership and said thanks and walked away Comment from : Joseph Durand |
I want to punch "Judas" in the face Comment from : mechmat12345 |
Luckily I've never dealt with a salesman like this, but if I did, I would walk in a heartbeat sometimes the best deal is the deal you walk away from Comment from : Christopher Rosas |
