At 6’2” and working out 5 days per week, I should have been able to eat 2300 calories per day to lose weight Haha, no, I gained fat 😂So I tried 2000 Nope, that was maintenance So I cut back to 1800 and finally started seeing my BF drop I think it’s because I’m pushing 50 Or maybe every body is different brbrIt’s all good, though The fat is coming off now, and I can always bulk later on

So im obese (240lbs at 5'8 height) I lost weight before hand and got down to a good weight for me but ONLY doing cardio to about 160lbs I ended up depressed and gaining it all back so now here i am at 240 This time i was wondering if i focus on high protein diet and lift do moderate cardio maybe 40 mins walking and do a split would i see the benefits of lifting the weights or would i Just end up losing any muscle from putting myself in a calorie deficit? I Wanna be able to "lose the fat which is quiet alot and enjoy being able to build or even the lifting weights part

Brother So my question is I'm diabetic Type 2 Basically I have to do 16hr or more fasting to keep my sugar low if my goal is to stop taking Metformin I understand that I have to spread out my protein intake throughout the day but its gonna mess up my fasting So basically I can only eat once a day I understand its going to slow down my muscle building but its not really gonna go down to zero right?

This makes so much sense ! I have stomach issues so stopped havring my protein breakfast and had two meals so lower cals but went up in body fat 3- 😮 when Iv added in 3 walks a week as well as 4 training days I was blaming hrt but this maybe worth a look at too

I've been eating 2,700 calories a day and still burning fat, losing weight, and building muscle Caloric deficit doesn't sound like a healthy way to go about it since you'll often hit a plateau as your body adjusts to a lower amount of caloric intake When you are at a caloric deficit, your body will stop using energy for other less necessary processes like hair growth If you don't mind being bald, go for itbrbrI've found switching to an all-meat diet of 80 calories from fat and 20 calories from protein to be a better way to go I eat until I'm full and don't feel hungry again until my next meal which is over the next day No need to snack or have multiple meals as I'm always full and have high amounts of stable energybrbrThis might not work for everyone but it does for me

Some good advice: It's not about how much you eat, it's about WHAT you eatbrbrIf you eat a lot of food which are high in vitamins and low in calories like fruits, veggies and chicken you already lose weight Of course also keep up the proteins for building muscle

I think the logic is that say it takes a year to bulk to your target and it takes a year to cut back to your target, it's a total of 2 years And if you recomp, it would take either 2 years or slightly more And herein lies the problem At the 1 year mark, the bulk guy is substantially different looking and this makes a lot of people think that recomp isn't effective Recomp in my experience is the best way Skin stays tight and bones, breathing pattern and metabolism all adapt better

I did this in the summer of 2022 and saw insane changes in my physique while my weight stayed the same this guide works extremely effectively but I got lazy with it towards the end of 2022 and gained 20 lbs i’ve began doing body recomp again and 2 weeks back into it im seeing change in my physique already

I eat 1800 -1900 calories a day and i've been consistently getting stronger in a ppl split brbrIt's frustrating beacause my weight stagnates and I feel like i'm doing something wrong but I guess that's just how recomp worksbrbrUpdate : I'm going to try maintenance (2500 to 2900 i will figure it out eventually ) and recomp from there

Recomp is most possible when first starting to train Especially if you’re resuming after a long break of over a year I’ve been riding the muscle memory recomp train until recently Now that I’m approaching my former strength levels I’m finding that muscle growth has slowed substantially It’s like I’ve hit a wall because of the calorie deficit I’m at about 12 body fat That’s my two cents

Question: What if you replace the calorie deficit with burning calories through cardio? So for example, instead of being in a 300 calorie deficit, you have no calorie deficit but you burn 300 calories every day through cardio Would this make a difference, and if so, would it be a positive or a negative difference when it comes to achieving body recomposition?

Thank you so much for this video! I noticed that despite being on a considerable deficit and working out hard to the point of failure 5 times a week for last 6 months I was barely burning any fat and also started to burn off some of my hard earned muscle Thanks to this video I realise I've been on a 1000 cal deficit, not timing my protein intake correctly and sabotaging my progress big time!
